ABC Digital Business Development comprises three businesses grouped together to take advantage of the organisation’s commercial digital expertise: online retail (ABC Shop online); content licensing and product development. The businesses are self-funded and all profits go back into the production of ABC content and programming.

ABC Shop Online
The ABC Shop Online has been in operation since 1995 and is one of the most successful e-tailers in Australia. The site ranges over 10,000 titles across DVD, books, music, TV downloads, clothing and novelties and sends products to customers all over Australia and the world.

Content Licensing
Content Licensing delivers customised content to clients – including operators of internet, mobile and emerging platforms such as video-on-demand and commuter services – who seek to build audiences in both traditional and emerging media. With access to the ABC’s three output areas – Radio, Television and News– Content Licensing provides clients with access to the ABC's high quality content, highly sought after brands and diverse range of genres.

Product Development
Digital Product Development identifies and develops innovative digital products and services that broaden the reach of the ABC’s content to new audiences on new platforms, under topic areas including Education, Entertainment, and Lifestyle. Released sites and products sit under the brand ABC Connect.

ABC Connect
ABC Connect is the audience-facing brand for the ABC’s commercial digital activities. You’ll see ABC Connect everywhere from our MySpace profile to our YouTube channels, all the way to kids’ online learning products and video downloads available through the ABC Shop Online.
